Photography in the 1990s

The first consumer digital cameras appeared alongside the last great film compacts. The Contax T2 and Yashica T4 paired Carl Zeiss optics with pocketable designs.

Nokia and Sony Ericsson introduced the first camera phones, while Fuji's Instax format was born. The decade straddled two worlds — the twilight of film and the dawn of digital.
