HISTORY

About the Disposable Camera

Fuji introduced the QuickSnap in 1986, popularizing the single-use disposable camera concept. By 1990, disposable cameras were everywhere — at weddings, parties, tourist attractions, and convenience stores worldwide. Their simple plastic lenses, fixed f/10 aperture, and ISO 400 film produced a distinctive look: slightly soft, warm, and unpretentious. The disposable camera aesthetic has experienced a massive revival among younger photographers seeking an analog, lo-fi look.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
