The Fuji GW690 III, produced from 1992, was known as the 'Texas Leica' for its enormous 6×9 rangefinder design. The massive negative captured extraordinary detail through its sharp EBC Fujinon 90mm f/3.5 lens, and the camera's simplicity — no interchangeable parts, no motors, no batteries for operation — made it supremely reliable. Only 8 frames per roll of 120 film demanded careful composition, but each frame contained more information than most medium-format cameras could capture.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Fuji GW690 III.
