About the Sony Mavica FD

The Sony Mavica FD, released in 1997, was revolutionary for storing photos directly onto standard 3.5-inch floppy disks — no cables, no card readers, no special software needed. Despite its modest 640×480 resolution, the instant accessibility of popping a floppy into any computer made it enormously popular in offices, real estate, and insurance industries. The Mavica's unique approach to photo storage made it one of the most recognizable early digital cameras.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
