HISTORY

About the Pentax Spotmatic

Released in 1964, the Pentax Spotmatic was the first SLR to feature through-the-lens (TTL) light metering, a breakthrough that made accurate exposure dramatically easier. Its Super-Takumar 55mm f/1.8 lens became legendary for its warm rendering and smooth bokeh. The Spotmatic sold millions worldwide and helped establish Pentax as one of the most trusted names in photography during the 1960s and 1970s.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
