Released in 1936 by Zeiss Ikon, the Contax II was the first camera with a combined rangefinder and viewfinder in a single window. Its Sonnar 50mm f/1.5 lens was the fastest production lens available, and its bayonet mount allowed quick lens changes. Ansel Adams shot with a Contax, and its optical quality and precision engineering made it Leica's most formidable rival in the pre-war era.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Zeiss Ikon Contax II.
