HISTORY

About the Argus C3

Known affectionately as 'The Brick' for its angular shape, the Argus C3 was produced from 1939 to 1966, selling over two million units. Its affordable price and coupled rangefinder made it America's best-selling 35mm camera for decades. Despite its crude ergonomics, the C3's Cintar 50mm f/3.5 lens produced surprisingly sharp images, and it introduced a generation of Americans to 35mm photography.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
