HISTORY

About the Pentax MX

The Pentax MX, released in 1976, was the smallest full-featured mechanical 35mm SLR of its era. Despite its compact size, it offered full manual control, interchangeable screens, a motor drive option, and the superb SMC Pentax 50mm f/1.4 lens. The MX was designed for photographers who wanted professional capabilities without the bulk, and it remains one of the most beloved manual-focus SLRs ever produced.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
