Designed by Yoshihisa Maitani and released in 1979, the Olympus XA was a revolutionary ultra-compact 35mm rangefinder that fit in a shirt pocket. Its clamshell design protected the Zuiko 35mm f/2.8 lens, and the rangefinder focusing system ensured sharp results in a body smaller than many point-and-shoots. The XA proved that serious photographic capability could be packed into the smallest possible form factor.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Olympus XA.
