HISTORY

About the Nikonos V

Released in 1984, the Nikonos V was the pinnacle of Nikon's dedicated underwater camera line. Its waterproof body, rated to 50 meters depth, combined with the excellent Nikkor 35mm f/2.5 lens made it the standard for underwater photography and also a favorite of surfers, sailors, and adventure photographers working in harsh conditions. The Nikonos V remained in production until 2001 and is considered the greatest underwater film camera ever made.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
