Anaglyph 3D imaging uses color-coded overlapping images — typically red and cyan — to create the illusion of depth when viewed through corresponding colored glasses. The technique dates back to the 1850s, but it became a pop-culture phenomenon through 1950s 3D movies and 1980s comic books. The characteristic ghosting and color fringing of anaglyph images has become an instantly recognizable retro aesthetic.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the 3D Anaglyph Camera.
