HISTORY

About the CRT Television

The cathode ray tube television, dominant from the 1950s through the early 2000s, rendered images through electron beams striking phosphor-coated glass. The characteristic RGB shadow mask or aperture grille, visible scanlines, slight barrel distortion, and warm color shifts created an aesthetic that defined how generations experienced visual media. RetroCam recreates the look of images displayed on a CRT screen.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
