HISTORY

About the Minolta CLE

Released in 1981, the Minolta CLE was a compact Leica M-mount compatible rangefinder developed in collaboration with Leitz. It was the first rangefinder camera with through-the-lens metering and aperture-priority auto exposure, offering Leica-quality optics — the M-Rokkor 40mm f/2 — with Japanese electronic innovation. The CLE remains one of the most compact and capable M-mount cameras ever produced.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
