HISTORY

About the Leica M6

Introduced in 1984, the Leica M6 became the definitive modern Leica rangefinder and the camera most associated with the M-system legacy. Adding through-the-lens metering to the classic M body design, it was paired with some of the finest lenses ever made — the Summicron 50mm f/2 being the classic combination. The M6 shot with Tri-X black-and-white film became the iconic setup for a generation of documentary and street photographers.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
