About the Contax RTS

Released in 1975, the Contax RTS (Real Time System) marked the rebirth of the Contax brand as a collaboration between Zeiss optics and Yashica electronics. Designed by Porsche Design, it paired cutting-edge Japanese electronics with legendary Carl Zeiss T* lenses, including the Planar 50mm f/1.4 — widely considered one of the finest standard lenses ever made. The RTS established the Contax/Yashica lens mount that would serve photographers for nearly three decades.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
