About the Canon Canonet QL17

The Canonet QL17 GIII, introduced in 1972, was one of the finest fixed-lens rangefinder cameras ever produced. Its sharp Canon 40mm f/1.7 lens, quiet leaf shutter, and compact body made it ideal for street photography. Often called 'the poor man's Leica,' the Canonet QL17 offered exceptional optical quality at a fraction of the price and has become one of the most sought-after vintage compacts.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
