Released in 1978, the Canon A-1 was the world's first camera to offer full programmed automatic exposure alongside shutter-priority, aperture-priority, and full manual modes. Its electronic LED viewfinder display and sophisticated metering system were revolutionary for the time. The A-1 became the flagship of Canon's FD system and represented the cutting edge of camera automation technology in the late 1970s.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Canon A-1.
