HISTORY

About the Polaroid SX-70

Introduced in 1972, the Polaroid SX-70 was a marvel of engineering — the world's first folding SLR instant camera. Designed by Edwin Land himself, it ejected self-developing color prints that developed in minutes before your eyes. The SX-70 transformed instant photography from a novelty into an art form, used by artists like Andy Warhol, Ansel Adams, and Walker Evans for creative experimentation.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
