Released in 1982, the Nikon FM2 was a fully mechanical SLR with a titanium shutter capable of 1/4000 second — the fastest at the time. Its independence from batteries (except for the meter), compact body, and superb Nikkor lens compatibility made it the go-to backup camera for professionals and the primary camera for purists. The FM2 remained in production until 2001, a testament to the enduring appeal of simple, reliable mechanical design.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Nikon FM2.
