Manufactured by the David White Company starting in 1947, the Stereo Realist was the most popular stereo camera ever produced, selling over 100,000 units during the 1950s stereo photography craze. It used standard 35mm film to capture paired images through twin 35mm f/3.5 lenses, producing realistic 3D transparencies when viewed through a stereoscope. Harold Lloyd was among its celebrity enthusiasts.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Stereo Realist.
