About the Kodak Brownie

Introduced in 1900 for just one dollar, the Kodak Brownie put photography in the hands of millions. Designed by Frank Brownell, the simple cardboard box camera used Kodak's new 117 roll film and required no technical knowledge to operate. Over its many iterations spanning six decades, the Brownie became the best-selling camera in history and transformed photography from a specialist craft into an everyday activity.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
