Introduced in 1983, the Nikon FA was the first camera to feature Automatic Multi-Pattern (AMP) metering — what Nikon now calls Matrix metering — which analyzed multiple zones of the frame to determine optimal exposure. This breakthrough technology would become the industry standard and is used in virtually every camera made today. The FA also offered shutter-priority, aperture-priority, and full manual modes alongside its innovative metering.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Nikon FA.
