Kodak introduced the Super 8 format in 1965, using Kodachrome 40 cartridges that made home movies as easy as loading a cassette. By 1966, millions of families were capturing birthdays, holidays, and everyday moments on Super 8. The format's characteristic warm Kodachrome palette, visible film grain, and slight exposure variations created an aesthetic that became synonymous with personal memory and nostalgia.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Super 8 Camera.
