HISTORY

About the X-Ray

Medical X-ray imaging dates to Wilhelm Röntgen's discovery in 1895, but by the 1950s the technology had matured into a standardized diagnostic tool. The characteristic look — inverted tones, high contrast, and bone-white skeletal structures against a dark background — became one of the most recognizable imaging aesthetics in history. RetroCam recreates this distinctive radiograph appearance as a creative effect.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
