HISTORY

About the Macintosh 128K

The original Macintosh, introduced by Apple in 1984, featured a 512×342 pixel monochrome display that could only show pure black and pure white — no gray tones. This 1-bit limitation created a distinctive dithered aesthetic that defined early Macintosh graphics, from MacPaint to early desktop publishing. RetroCam recreates this pioneering digital visual style as a photographic effect.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
