HISTORY

About the Graflex Crown Graphic

The Crown Graphic, introduced in 1947, was the lighter, more portable sibling of the legendary Speed Graphic. Used by press photographers throughout the post-war era, it combined 4×5 large-format quality with the portability needed for field work. Its front-mounted Kodak Ektar 127mm f/4.7 lens delivered sharp images, and the focal-plane shutter allowed for faster action photography than typical large-format cameras.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
