Pentax 17Half-Frame 35mm, TikTok Generation Film Camera

The Pentax 17, released in 2024, is a half-frame 35mm film camera — the first new film camera from a major manufacturer in decades. Its half-frame format produces 72 exposures per roll of 36-exposure film, and its zone-focus design keeps shooting simple and quick. The Pentax 17 was an immediate viral hit, especially on TikTok, and its sell-out launch proved that demand for new film cameras remains strong among younger photographers.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
