Lensbaby ComposerSelective Focus, Creative Optics

The Lensbaby Composer, introduced around 2004, is a selective-focus lens system that creates a sharp 'sweet spot' surrounded by progressive blur. By tilting the lens on a ball-and-socket mount, photographers can place the zone of sharpness anywhere in the frame. The Lensbaby embraced optical imperfection as a creative tool, producing dreamy, ethereal images that stood in stark contrast to the clinical precision of modern lenses.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
