HISTORY

About the Kodak No. 1

Launched by George Eastman in 1888 with the slogan 'You press the button, we do the rest,' the Kodak No. 1 was the first camera designed for amateur use. It came pre-loaded with a 100-exposure roll of paper-backed stripping film; when finished, the entire camera was mailed back to Rochester for processing. This revolutionary concept separated picture-taking from picture-making and created the snapshot as a cultural phenomenon.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
