The Panavision DXL2, introduced in 2018, is a large-format digital cinema camera built around a RED MONSTRO 8K VV sensor in a Panavision-designed body. It combines Panavision's legendary optical heritage with cutting-edge digital capture, and its large-format sensor produces images with a distinctive depth and dimensionality. The DXL2 has been used on major productions where filmmakers want the shallow depth of field and immersive look of large-format cinematography.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
