The T-Mobile Sidekick II, released in 2004, was a cultural phenomenon among teenagers and young adults in the mid-2000s. Its swiveling screen, QWERTY keyboard, and VGA camera made it the ultimate communication device for the AIM and MySpace generation. Paris Hilton famously used a Sidekick, and the device's camera photos — small, grainy, and often shot at arm's length — defined early selfie culture.
RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
Each effect is calibrated to match the real optical and chemical characteristics of the Sidekick II.
