About the iPhone 5

The iPhone 5, released in 2012, improved the camera to 8 megapixels with a sapphire crystal lens cover that was more scratch-resistant and optically clearer than glass. Its faster A6 chip improved image processing speed, and dynamic low-light mode enhanced nighttime photos. The iPhone 5 continued Apple's steady improvement of mobile photography and was released alongside the explosion of Instagram and mobile photo sharing.

RetroCam recreates this look using real optical data: color temperature curves, aberration profiles, grain structure, and tonal response. The result is a live camera effect that feels authentic, not just a filter slapped on top.
